Thank you for visiting our website. As we gear up for the 2010-2011 school year, we are reminded in Jeremiah 51:12 to “Set up the standard…make the watch strong!” 10 times in the Bible we find a standard being raised; a standard being set up before the people. Our school’s theme this year is simply “Raising the Standard.” My heart’s desire and prayer is that each teacher, staff member, parent, and student would strive to raise the standard in every area of ministry and personal responsibility.

We are to seek and do God’s will to the best of our ability. At West Point and other military academies, the bar is set high, excellence is required, and only the dedicated and diligent truly succeed. Of all of our nation’s branches of the military, the Coast Guard stands out in one respect. Their mission is exemplified in their adherence to the core values of honor, respect, and devotion to duty. They strive to ensure that the Coast Guard can complete their missions and remain Semper Paratus, Always Ready. They must be “always ready” to save a life. On our northern Michigan great lakes a few minutes could mean lives lost in treacherous waters. The rescue equipment must be impeccable, the procedures must be in place and, within seconds of receiving a call the helicopters must be in the air and prepared to save lives.

As Christians we are to be ready for Christ to return, holding high the standard, God’s holy Word. We must be devoted to the salvation of those that are lost without Christ. My dream for our school this year is that each person who plays a part will work together to raise the standard. We can do everything better and we can and must be ready for every challenge ahead. Preparation is truly the key to success. I am excited to be a part of a great ministry where all have equal opportunity to “raise the standard!”
